A ten to fifteen minute tan session can leave you feeling exuberant and glowing, as well as provide you with your daily dose of vitamin d. Your new tan is relatively maintenance free, however there are things you can do to keep your skin healthy and maintain your tan. Here’s a few tips to help you care for your skin and your tan.
Stay hydrated. Staying hydrating while frequenting a tanning salon is of the upmost importance, avoid burning and losing your tan prematurely by consuming your daily water allowance. Tanning beds tend to dry out the skin, so some special attention to this detail can leave your tan looking fabulous and your skin healthy.
Moisturizing. When your skin is properly hydrated and moisturized, it tends to holds the tan and gives the skin a healthy hydrated glow. Use moisturizer before and after your tanning session for best results. After care: moisturize twice daily for best result.
Protect your skin. Space out your tanning sessions. Leaving 3-4 days between sessions will allow your skin to recover properly. Avoid the sun if possible or wear an SPF sunblock/lotion. Too much UV light can be harmful to the skin.
